Clanfair Classic Chrome: "Auggie"

Auggie does his own advertising, but what kind of breeders would we be if we didn't add on to that? Auggie's looks clearly speak for themselves (and I could go on forever about his temperament), but his best attribute by far is his jaw-dropping, oh my gosh, look at that boy GO, movement! His babies inherit that lovely sweep, natural changes, and his elegant form (along with plenty of Chrome!).

How tall is Auggie?

Auggie stands 12.3H. While this might be a deal breaker for some (and justifiably so) there is clarification for those still interested: Auggie sustained a head injury while still a young foal that affected his mature height- but not his genetic one. Both of Auggie's parents are approximately 13.2H and he has thrown several 13.2H foals out of 12.2H mares. For this reason we typically don’t recommend breeding to him with the hopes of losing height on larges.

It should also be noted that we have only ever measured Auggie straight out of a field or stall, without any prep. Perhaps there is someone out there that could measure him 12.2H, but we have never pursued any such services since we would still continue to breed our golden boy regardless.

Do you breed to outside mares?

While we are actively working on setting up AI and hope to have it running 2026, we are not yet able to offer that service.

That said, we do offer Auggie to a select few outside mares for live cover. We typically only take a small handful of mares in any season so slots fill up fast. Avaliability also depends on how large our workload is for that particular year (how aggressively we bred the previous year etc).

For this option there is the usual stud fee, along with the boarding fee, a reproductive wellness exam, and mandatory ultrasound at the mare owner's expense.

Ace is our resident Fabio here at Faylin Welsh. He passes a HUGE step to his babies along with plenty of bone, and height, with solid no nonsense personalities. 

Ace is a chestnut rabicano.

Faylin's Dungeon Master: "Jinn"

Jinn is an exceptionally special little colt that we just can't WAIT to grow up! Not only is he Auggie's son, but he also happens to be one of only a rare few black duns (grullas) still left within the Welsh breed. We firmly believe in saving the dun genetics amongst Sec B ponies and Jinn is a major stepping stone in that goal. Be sure to watch this one!

Jinn is color tested: E/E D/nd2.

While this means that Jinn will pass on his dun factor 50% of the time (reason enough to be excited!), it also means that Jinn is incapable of producing chestnut-based foals!

 

KCS The Navigator: "Gator"

After the long wait we are thrilled to introduce Gator! Gator first caught our attention with his lovely color, however the cherry on the cake has by far been his sweet and humorous personality. He truly is a joy to be around!

 

Full Sec A Welsh, Gator is a Silver Dunalino (Palomino Dun with the Silver gene). We just can't wait to see how his lines mix with Jinn's! Though admittedly we'll be waiting a while...
