We have been breeding top quality Sec. B welsh ponies since 2014 designed for the hunter/jumper disciplines. We strive to breed well-mannered ponies sporting solid minds matched with the athleticism to take you to the ribbons! Please sit back and enjoy our ponies.

Our Story

Based in Keatchie, Louisiana, Faylin Welsh is run by the dynamic mother daughter duo (or so we fancy ourselves): Donny Lins and Silken Goree. Donny grew up with a small herd of Welsh ponies in Spring Green, Wisconsin where she and her siblings would tear around their large dairy farm riding bareback, and tumbling into snowdrifts.

The breed re-entered her life in the form of a gift for her eldest child, Tracker. Bert was a sassy black-based grey that lived well into his twenties on what would one day become the Faylin fields. Though he never received a designated job, Bert was a testament to his breed.

It wasn't until much later that our breeding aspirations would finally culminate. The introduction of four quarter horses warranted formal riding classes, and it was through these classes that the we were introduced to the english discipline. When the opportunity presented itself to breed Pistol to a welsh stud... well the rest is history. Though we started out breeding mostly half-welsh crosses, over the years we have refined our program to full welsh with only a select few non-welsh mares active within our herd.

Faylin's Kodachrome recently placed 5th overall in Medium Greens- Pony Finals 2023- at just five years old! We are so incredibly proud of Auggie's firstborn, and can't wait to watch as his siblings start giving him a run for his money!
